The Rumsey Rancheria uses a variety of testing and selection processes based on the rank to be filled.

Through experience the department has found that the selection of Battalion Chiefs and Captains is best served through an assessment center testing method.

Firefighter/Paramedic and Engineer/Paramedics have been selected based on their demonstrated career history and panel interviews. All potential employees are initially screened based on submittal of a Rumsey Rancheria Employment Application and resume.

Prior to employment, candidates must also pass a comprehensive background investigation, pre-employment medical and physical abilities test.
