The department fields two Paramedic Companies that responded to well over 500 calls for service in 2007. Most of these calls were for medical emergencies. The department also provided emergency services to our mutual aid partners in the Capay Valley.

Additionally several mutual aid responses were made through the Office of Emergency Services, State Mutual Aid System including a response to the Esparanza Incident in southern California.

Current department projects include:

• Fire Department Accreditation: Our goal is to become one of the select few fire departments to complete the International Association of Fire Chiefs and International City Manager’s Association process that evaluates each department’s capability, level of service and consistency with the goals set forth for it by its constituents
• Implementation of a comprehensive policy and procedures manual.
• Develop Strategic Planning Initiatives 2008-2010.
